We chose PA Cyber because my daughter was ready for a change. Plus, we wanted to teach our religious beliefs in our household. My daughter always never liked school, or learning. Now that she is in PA Cyber she can't stop telling me of all of the things she is learning. She used to be a B-C-D student, now an A-B student! She never thought of school as a place to learn before! This is a wonderful school for children who want to learn more than they can learn in a public school system! My daughter is also an acrylic painter, and attends lots of Art Gallery events, and spends quite a deal of time in her art studio each day. PA Cyber gives us flexibility for her to pursue her passion for art, and learning.

I found out about your school through a friend and then my son decided that it was something that he would love to do. My oldest son went to public school and was very unhappy through most of it. If I had known about his school then I would have put him this and he would have gotten his diploma. Both of my boys have had the same kind of issues with being a more hands on kind of learner. And I believe this is the perfect way for my youngest son to get his diploma.

We started with PA Cyber after our 9th grade daughter was threatened with a knife at school. She is now a graduate. We are now using PA Cyber and Little Lincoln for our 6 year old. We started her in K4 after a terrible time with Head start. She is ODD and a bright child but is very hard to handle. PA Cyber allows me to educate her in an environment with the flexibility and discipline she needs. We are also able to avoid many of the negative peer issues common today. Plus we are not as sick as we used to be. Socializing is done with people sharing our values. She will be able to form a strong value system without having pressure from others. We can make her aware of other values without letting them affect her negatively. Added to all that they offer us a wide range of choices for education.

We couldn't see any reason NOT to join PA Cyber. PA Cyber contains the aspects that the best of our state's public, private, parochial, and fine arts schools provide to students. In addition this quality is measured out to EVERY PA Cyber student. With PA Cyber, it doesn't matter if your children are minorities, are poor, are struggling, that their parents aren't well known or hold prestigious employment. Here, a child's zip code does not dictate what success he will obtain. Our kids really are receiving a quality education that is interesting to them. We also feel that the fine arts/social opportunities are great! We have loved having access to studio art classes, music lessons, etc. We work hard to pay our taxes and deserve to have the choice of how to spend the money. We hope our legislators will always feel that the needs of the children take precedence over anything else.

I am not impressed with our local high school, no morals, or values are being taught, security is all over the school... I feel my daughter needs something more. It may be good for some; but for my daughter she was going the wrong direction and I want her to have a secure future with a proper education. We could not afford Christian school and pa cyber was highly recommended. This year she will be in virtual and I can't wait to experience the learning experience with her.

We chose PA CYBER school this year for our 8 year old little girl who has a chronic illness and disability called RSD. She cannot attend a brick and mortar building everyday because she misses too much school with absences and doctors appointments. She goes to DR's all over PA and sometimes out of PA. We like the fact that she can take her work along with her and do it at her own pace so she does not feel overwhelmed and she's just having the best time with this experience this year. We feel as her parents that we made the right decision for her and our family and her medical health and welfare.

I am a Reading Specialist with a strong desire to teach my children how to read. PA Cyber made that choice easy and possible with their great curriculum choices and extraordinary support system for their cyber families. Having worked for Huntington Learning Centers for almost 15 years and having tested hundreds of students in public, private and home school situations with well reading levels well below average, I decided that it was MY responsibility to make sure that my children received the best education that I could afford to give them. After doing some research into our local public and private schools, I decided that individualizing my children's education WAS the best way to educate them, so my daughter ( currently in 6th grade) and my son (currently in 5th grade) have been PA Cyber students since kindergarten and LOVE it.....and so do I! They have not missed out on ANY socialization skills either, mostly due to the fact that PA Cyber offers a huge variety of activities through their incredible Family Link system, but also because we can pick and choose as a family the type of social activities in which to involve our children. We believe it is our job as concerned parents to expose our children to quality education, and PA Cyber provides us with that opportunity!

I have 2 children in PA Cyber. My oldest I enrolled because of all of the extras that come along with high school and I have been out of school for 15 years things have changed and my child needs a little help and isn't allowed to bring books home. For my other child, he has a hearing problem since Kindergarten and now is in 5th…The last 2 years have been bad for him. I realized this year that his hearing was bothering him a lot more not that he couldn't hear well, but the attitude and remarks from the teachers over him talking loud…Most schools just don't seem to care about the child anymore at least the one in my district. This is our 1st yr. with PA Cyber and I know it is going to be much better for my children's education.

Our son was struggling in school and we were being told that he was doing great. We knew he was not. We were pretty sure he had learning disabilities, his BEA school tested him and said he didn't. We chose PA Cyber hoping it would be a better experience. Wow, what a difference. He was retested and it was confirmed that he has a specific learning disability in reading and in math. He now receives the help he needs, tutoring, etc. It has been a wonderful experience. Every year we give him the choice of continuing with PACyber or going back to the public school, he doesn't choose public school. He is more relaxed and learning to be more independent. PACyber is the best. Thanks!

We chose to pull our child out of school for the middle and h. school years because our District is so big. He has very mild autism and wants to obey every rule that has been made. He is a very sweet child and we knew he would be a target for being bullied. He also needed more help in his social skills as he came into his teen years. He has more friends now that he has ever had and is getting the help he needs. We are so happy that there is an alternative for schooling. We have 2 sons in college and could not afford a small private school for him. He's doing great, it's bee an answer to our prayers!!!!!.

We wanted our child to be free of discrimination from the school district in which we live. We moved to the area and are considered outsiders, so our child was always picked on and bullied in school by the teachers and the principal. After 2 years of the abuse that he was put thru in a traditional public school, we were very blessed that we heard about PA Cyber and had the option to place our son in a safe environment. If my son did something wrong he was suspended from school, if another child did the same thing, well that was alright by the teacher, principal and the superintendent. I even went to the school to work part-time to see if that would help. Since enrolling our child in PA Cyber the stress is gone and I know that he is getting a QUALITY EDUCATION and he is confident with who he is. I think it is a shame to traditional public schools that they are permitted for their staff and administration to act with the behavior that was bestowed upon my son. Our reps should respect our wishes and allow our funds to go to the school in which we choose.

My family chose PA Cyber over Clearfield Area Schools because it was a never ending battle with the district over stupid things. They would hassle my kids while in school. Call us to the school over what they thought were issues and they weren't at all. They treat kids badly and wonder why they have trouble with them. PA Cyber ended all of that trouble for us. My kids are getting the education they deserve finally..without all the drama at Clearfield School. Thank you PA Cyber from the Zeigler household.

Our local school district was not meeting the emotional or educational needs of our adopted son. He was terrified to go to school. He said that he felt like he was the "Bad" kid at school. When we moved him home with PA Cyber, his grades went from C's and D's to A's and B's. He is also getting OT (which the local school district said his problems weren't bad enough to need OT). He is receiving tutoring to help him academically. PA Cyber is even addressing his emotional support issues. The services that have been offered by PA Cyber have been superb. Our son is happy. This will be our second year for cyber school and our son says he wants to continue through high school.

As a newspaper staff writer I had occasion to report on PA Cyber and other educational innovations coming out of Midland, Pa.
What I learned convinced me I was witnessing nothing less than a revolutionary process - the ushering in of a new era in education.
Two years ago I joined the staff as communications coordinator. It has been a joy to be a part of an organization that is so professional, so dedicated to its students and families, and so creative in its approach to education.
Cyber school is not for every student, but for certain kids it is the answer to their needs and sometimes their desperate prayers.
The important point is that families have a choice, and that their choice of a charter or cyber charter school is supported by their tax dollars.
As a resident of West Virginia, I wish that my home state would join the charter school movement and offer cyber to our own kids.

Our son was ill all the time in our public school. It came to the point where he could not breathe in the school. He had a tutor at home the last part of his 8th grade year. We knew he couldn't continue in that school. It ended up that he was allergic to a mold in the school, but the mold was not at a level that the state felt it needed removed. He has been so much healthier learning at home. PA Cyber was an answer to our problem. He can still participate in outdoor sports with his friends, but remain healthy! He has also taken advantage of classes that he would not have been able to take at our public school.

I almost lost my son at birth to a rare blood disorder. As the year progressed he almost died on us, but thanks to heroes at the Jeannette ambulance he was revived almost immediately after being flat line. As his life went into his second year, we found out he had a heart murmur. He could not ever be hit in the mouth. My biggest worries came from bullies in school situation. At the time for his beginning kindergarten year, we took him to the local school district. They tested him around a table with other children. There were smaller children (who we were supposed to find babysitters for) playing in the corner of the gym. After the test, I had to wait 45 minutes to speak with the principal. I sat nicely listening to her talk to the parent before me about her tuna noodle casserole for dinner. When it was my turn to speak it was almost noon - lunch time in the working world. She told me she was placing my son at the lowest end of the class. Do not speak the principal said for I have to go to lunch. I went home and discovered a different cyber school than PA Cyber. I took him to Wexford to be tested and he tested high first grade. Here he is back with PA Cyber and soon to be in 5th grade at the age of nine. My 6 yr old daughter will be in second next year.

I have been home schooling for over 15 years. 2 of my 4 older children went on to Public School for high school . My 2 youngest daughters Leah (graduating this year) and Bethany have both been in PA Cyber School for high school. It has been a good experience for all of us allowing both my daughters to be involved with competitive skating, dance, music, piano and time during the week to attend a gym throughout the week. The staff and resources available are great! My relatives/friends in other states only wish they had the same program. Thank You.!

We chose Pa Cyber because our school district was not meeting the educational, emotional and psychological needs of my children. My son has moderate to severe ADHD. They were doing nothing to her him. My adopted daughter was having emotional issues that they were only addressing by punishment, not trying to help her at all. I had heard about PA Cyber Charter School through friends at work. I checked them out as well as some other PA cyber schools. PA Cyber is the only on line cyber school that has the benefit of virtual classes. They get to be in a classroom setting with a teacher and other students, just like in a brick and mortar school but with the benefit of being at home in a safe environment that is conducive to learning. We LOVE Pa Cyber. The benefits are too numerous to mention. Thank you for giving parents a choice in their children’s education!

My daughter, Lauren, was ill in her 9th and 10th grades. She went to summer school to make up all work. She needed to learn at her own pace until the mono and tonsillitis and strep throats were over.
PA Cyber gave her that opportunity, plus confidence in seeing she can do the work. She also attends a community college for Ethics presently, but all of it is attributable to PA Cyber and the confidence it gave her.

My 8th grade daughter was struggling terribly in our public school district. Simply put, my daughter needed more than the district could provide. After a long family discussion, we decided to give PA Cyber a try. We enrolled my daughter in January of 2008, and I have to say it was the best decision we have ever made. My daughter's main struggle in school was math. In her public school, she was always falling behind and did poorly. With the self paced classes PA Cyber offers, my daughter can continue to review areas that are problems for her. She doesn't move on in math until she understands the concept being taught. As it turns out, my daughter doesn't have nearly the math issue we thought she did; she just needed to be able to go at her own pace. I am happy to report that her current math grade is an A, and she is doing well in all of her other classes too. Thanks so much.

We chose PA Cyber for our family because some of our children had special needs. As much as the school district tried to meet these needs, we felt that the only way to have our kids education tailored to them and to provide a true individual plan for each child was home educating. Also for some of the needs we felt that subjecting our children to an environment where the kids would either be teased because of their differences or be swayed by the "pack" that we should educate at home. PA Cyber provides great and well rounded access to classes, activities and field trips. This gives the parents an opportunity to expose their children to QUALITY socialization among peers and other ages of children in a more structured and positive manner. PA Cyber has definitely enhanced the self-esteem of my children. They are comfortable being who they are and we are happy to know who they are. School choice is a great thing. Each child is different and we hope that are legislators are willing to continue to give each child the chance to choose the environment where they feel their child will best fit.

I chose PACYBER after my son's second grade year in Carbondale Elementary. His grades were fine, but when asked to do basic math, reading and writing at home he couldn't do it. I realized that he was one of those good kids who was getting lost in the public school system. He had no behavior issues. Ultimately that problem was that he had a teacher who was regularly absent and overly stressed. She was not able to properly teach the number of children she had in her class, everything was rushed and if you fell behind...well that was too bad. My son is currently retaking 2nd grade, because he couldn't even begin to comprehend the 3rd grade materials we had started. He has been so much more successful with me working one on one with him. Thank God PACYBER exists!

Our family was required to move half way through my daughters eight grade year. Despite trying very hard to succeed in the new school she was shunned and assaulted. The school told me her only alternative was religious private schools 6K and 11K each for tuition. My dental hygienist recommended PA Cyber which graciously made an exception and let her attend half way through the school year as her Homebound tutoring would not be extended by the local school. Local school denied knowing anything at all about PACyber or any charter school. I'm very ashamed for them for not protecting the communities children from bullies and for hiding resources from them. The school has only provided data when forced to by the 'Right to Know' law. We need choices, my daughter is a high achieving well behaved child who was let down by traditional bricks and mortar school.
